The gently sloping tapered shape of the cabinet legs of which this modern art sculpture is made invites me to connect the tapered shape in different ways.

This gives several possibilities how to make smooth lines run, both in length and width.

The first sculpture in the EYES series, entitled "Looking", has the vertical gravity of the form in the middle.

This approaches a more neutral way of looking.

In this sculpture “Staring”, the vertical gravity is at the ends.

That creates different lines and a different, more penetrating expression of viewing.

This is reinforced by placing the convex side of the elements entirely at the front.

With the drawing of the wood grain, the 'frown line' above the nose and the black painted wooden balls as pupils, I have tried to enhance the staring gaze.
