Funny wall clock
With this funny wall clock as part of a new series of clocks I wanted to experiment in the use of paint.
Dripping paint on the wood and then slowly turning the base for the clock around.
In the curves that are formed the paint is the thickest at the end of the drip.
A picture arises that wants to be read : What can a particular spot mean or can become a part of ? Which open spaces need to be
painted ? What has to become light or painted dark ?
Cartoon like painting
The arise figures showed me prehistoric dinosaurs, octopuses, snakes and lobsters.
The finished cartoon like painting shows you a “Laurel & Hardy” snake, a jockey riding on a dinosaur, the queen of the octopuses with crown and pearl necklace and a singing lobster.

Characteristics of caricatures
1. Exaggeration: Caricatures exaggerate certain features of their subject to create humor or emphasize a particular aspect of their personality or character. This can range from excessively large eyes, noses, ears to bizarre body shapes.
2. Simplification: Caricatures often simplify complex details and forms into stylized and simplified shapes.
This helps to draw attention to the most important features of the subject.
3. Caricature-like resemblance: Despite exaggeration and simplification, caricatures should still be recognizable as their subject.
This is achieved by retaining some of the most characteristic features of the subject, such as a specific hairstyle, facial features, or clothing style.
4. Humor: Caricatures are often humorous in nature and can use visual jokes, puns, or satirical elements to make a point or provide entertainment.
5. Expressiveness: Caricatures can depict strong emotions and expressions through exaggerated facial expressions, body language, and other visual cues.
6. Shrinking or enlarging: Sometimes, certain parts of the subject's body or face are shrunk or enlarged to achieve a comic effect.
For example, a very small head on a large body or huge hands.
7. Stereotyping: Caricatures often use stereotypical features to quickly and effectively portray a certain type of person or group.
This can range from ethnic stereotypes to profession-related traits.
8. Artistic style: Caricatures can vary in artistic style, from cartoonish to more realistic approaches, but they generally retain a certain degree of simplification and exaggeration.
By combining these features, caricaturists can create unique and humorous interpretations of their subjects.
